Good entry point. Fracking is not going away and expect the company to provide good long term growth

Reasonable valuation, fracking is not going away. Might be some trouble in the next couple of years before this goes into the money.

Contracts for the next year plus have all their production accounted for. The noise in the news is depressing the price, but I think the future is brighter for all the silica manufacturers.

They have secured 70% of their contracts through to 2018. Buying opportunity if you're in for the long run.

The stock has gotten crushed recently due to declining oil prices. I think in the long-run, this company will be just fine. A couple of things I like about this company:
- Geographic competitive advantages: The sand used in fracking is very specific and cannot be found everywhere. SLCA has mines with this type of sand. And not only do they have the mines, but their mines and processing centers are strategically located close to active drilling areas and railroads. Extremely hard for a competitor to duplicate these advantages.
- As fracking methods evolve, they have been using more and more proppant per well which is good news for SLCA.

Big decline in the stock price recently (36% off 52 week high) as declining oil prices have investors running away scared. I think this is a classic overreaction to a short-term problem. The company has geography-based competitive advantages and its product should see growing long-term demand.

As fracking safety improves and the industry ramps up even more, there will be a growing demand for SLCA's injection product.

EOG has had superior results using considerably more sand propellant per lateral foot. I believe this will be a growing trend with other oil companies in tight shale formations. As drilling steps up more tonnage of sand wil be required for a growing number of completions. As demand increases, so will the price for fracking grade sand.

it seems like such a basic, boring commodity, yet, with the domestic O&G energy boom in full-swing; good quality sand is in demand & should continue for a good while as the alternatives - while good performing - are currently significantly more expensive than good 'ole silica!-)
