Supermicro makes server solutions optimized for applications. Sounds techy, but it's damn useful stuff. What's more, SMCI has spent years building up an inter-operable stable of parts, allowing the company to assemble specialized servers rapidly and efficiently. Think Lego!

Great white box servers and new storage line make this an attractive small stock that can move quickly to fill in niches left by the big guys.

I like the balance sheet, though I prefer my companies without debt to eat up profit. A good outcome on the patent case may mean a good bounce short term, with the balance sheet carrying through the long term.

They went public in order to pay off their debt, which hasn't happened. Looks like not too many fund managers are interested in another tech server stock. Plus, looks like as soon as the stock builds some value, some hedge fund manager sells it..Winning formula: buy at around $ 9-9.50, sell it around $ 10-10.50..I just wonder what will happen after 18 months is over.

I've used supermicro boards and servers since the mid 90s. They make a great solid reliable product. They'll do well in the future now that they've expanded beyond their traditional Intel only systems to AMD.

The market they are in "Servers" and how they approach delivering them makes me think they will do well. Server are a growth market and if you have the right servers at the right time you will win. I think SMCI is one them.
