Aaaaaah! a 5% reduction in full year revs! This thing is only worth 75% of what I thought it was yesterday!

See how ridiculous that sounds.

Smith Micro has had some rough times in this economy, but still managed to post a small profit this quarter after successive loses. Revenue was up 4% to $27.4M, but slightly below analyst estimates. Overall, the share price hit today of 28% was mostly due to a lowering of foward guidance. Honesty is not your friend in this area, which is why many companies have suspended forward guidance. Forward guidance was reduced by about $5 Million or about 5% and the stock tumbled. I don't care for Smith Micro's stock compensation, but I do appreciate honesty and a company with NO DEBT that is making a profit in a recession. I'm banking that the steep cut in Smith Micro's share price was overdone and will bounce back up. Insiders sold at the $11-12 dollar range which was excessive at that time. $6.70, however, errs too much on the low side and more patient investors are likely to buy in.
