Another one sold off on panic that should get things turned back around in due time.

Excessively beaten up.

I see lots of people in CAPS like it for the same reson I came up with in my research. Exciting company in an exciting field. The management has built a portfolio of applications which has lots of cross selling opportunities. They have a focused strategy, even in this fast paced, enfuego wireless data business.
Recs
Small cap tech company with strong earnings growth and a reasonable P/E.

Stock has been ridiculously beaten down since Q3 '07 earnings. They have no debt, millions in cash which they can use to acquire complementary companies without financing. Strong relationship with Verizon. Music is not the future of this company.... it's the software, particularly StuffIt Wireless. Good acquistion strategy. I really believe this will be an earnings monster. Disclosure: I own shares of SMSI.

Seems like everyone likes it. i am in.

2- words wireless communication. It's every where and will continue to be.

This stock has shown groth over the past month although it has underpreformed the S&P.

I like how this company keeps broadening its customer base. Its way undervalued at $15/share.

SMSI has a very strong product lineup that is only now picking up speed and customers. Their "Music essential kit" has brought in significant and growing revenue quarter over quarter.
(Sprint is rumored to become a customer.)
Mobile Handset softwre compression is being tested on handsets with larger OEM's and they are working on JPEG and video compression
Enterprise Security was just recently launch and is picking up customers.

Gotta have a bit of this here, It's cheaper now that Smitty is so unpopular

I haven't checked the company much, but there is much discussion regarding the possibilities here.
Discussions say that the stock should be in the mid 20s, except for the shorts and somewhat slow customer orders. Expecting breakout late 2007?
Insertion in CAPS is to remind me to bone up on the company. Not time for my real port, but I'll take a flyer in CAPS.
Recs
expect stronger wifi market development based on wireless auction and clearwire deal with sprint

does anyone really think these cell phone thingies are gonna catch on? HELLO, put your phone down. wonder who creates those great programs that get your cell to perform all that wonderful magic? the demand for newer and more innovative cells shows no signs of slacking off; fortunately, smsi performs and creates as if they are being (profit) driven to keep up (though now that they're going off during most movies, sports events [t.o's mouth stays open too much anyway],elementary school classes and religious services...). eventually the bigger programming nabobs will find their courts too full to play on and get their margins in and come to play more in the smsi niche; but, until then... they shouldn't come if they think they can just take over without a big fight from the little guy though, historically they've maintained steady growth and profitability over a (their) long haul. management is utilizing resources well to contain cost, and leadership is motivating their people to perform creatively on the cutting edge of public desire for connectivity and sharing, ala early sun microsystems or cisco systems. i plan to bet the farm that this calf will grow into a real prize BULL.
