I stumbled onto this little Jewel a week ago,, and bought at less than 5.00 a share, and when I saw its cash and outlook forcast
I couldn't believe my eyes and I bought some,, not enough though,, and it already is up to 6.65
Wow what a management team,, etc.. and I have already made money since I decided to sell some .. too..to subsidize my stock churning habit

With this company's relationship with VZ & the new Stuffit compression software expected to be a must have application for future cells, pda's. This is a buy & hold for several years. Don't miss out on such a great opportunity. Outstanding growth YOY. Once new customers are announced I would expect the stock to double within 3-4 months.

does anyone really think these cell phone thingies are gonna catch on? HELLO, put your phone down. wonder who creates those great programs that get your cell to perform all that wonderful magic? the demand for newer and more innovative cells shows no signs of slacking off; fortunately, smsi performs and creates as if they are being (profit) driven to keep up (though now that they're going off during most movies, sports events [t.o's mouth stays open too much anyway],elementary school classes and religious services...). eventually the bigger programming nabobs will find their courts too full to play on and get their margins in and come to play more in the smsi niche; but, until then... they shouldn't come if they think they can just take over without a big fight from the little guy though, historically they've maintained steady growth and profitability over a (their) long haul. management is utilizing resources well to contain cost, and leadership is motivating their people to perform creatively on the cutting edge of public desire for connectivity and sharing, ala early sun microsystems or cisco systems. i plan to bet the farm that this calf will grow into a real prize BULL.

AsI look at performance over the past several months. This looks like a solid pick for short-term gains

Trading at low P/E. Good revenue growth. EPS growth slowed but should regain momentum. Verizon % of revenue slowing down.

wifi is good stuff, so the makers are good as well

Competition in the wireless space is forcing the providers to offer enhanced services. SMSI provides several unique products and services that help the wireless providers (Verizon, Sprint, etc) generate revenue growth and improve customer churn. SMSI has significant upside potential in 2007 as it will likely sign one or two major customers to its StuffIt Wireless software, which will allow digital compression of JPEG and other files, saving network space and adding to digital service offerings.

double digit growth in both EPS and Revenues. Multiple new product lines. Great balance sheet. strong acquisition strategy

SMSI has a very strong product lineup that is only now picking up speed and customers. Their "Music essential kit" has brought in significant and growing revenue quarter over quarter.
(Sprint is rumored to become a customer.)
Mobile Handset softwre compression is being tested on handsets with larger OEM's and they are working on JPEG and video compression
Enterprise Security was just recently launch and is picking up customers.

Has outperformed the market since I have owned this the last year. Is a well managed company still run by cofounder. Wireless is here and this company has many new inovative Software solutions.
Recs
growth lately has been pretty flat , so i figure this one to under perform.

A number of complementing wireless technologies will make this stock profitable in the long term.

I guess if I "feel strongly" about this pick; the dollar sign designation. I'd better comment.
I find it very difficult not to be bullish at the current ($8) price.
Junior has been acquiring allot of things, most recently the competition and their customer base.
Unfortunately, Junior has been generous with shareholder value as well, diluting our interest.
If the first pays off and the second subsides, we've got a winner.
Throw in some optimistic viewspoints concerning Stuffit adoption, and I feel we may have a LT story.

Wireless devices are coming with more computing power and this company has positioned itself to support/lead the multimedia and virus needs.

I have 15% of my portfolio on this stock and I believe in the technologies and products that the company sells as it is the market leader of a sector that is ready to explode. My interest in this company isn't strongly based on the media products that Smith Micro sells but rather the WiMax technology patents that it bought from Pctel a few months back that is the most intriguing. I was worried about wimax's future with the issues that Sprint was having but most of my doubts have been alleviated by Intel's backing in the technology and investment of 2 billion dollars into Wimax's future. The Wimax patents that Smith Micro holds should put it in a strong position when it becomes more mainstream, I am especially excited with the technology that allows handhelds to transition from various networks (Wimax to Wifi and etc) seamlessly.
Even with all of these things which would naturally instill confidence in this company I have strong doubts of the company's future because of the management of the company. More specifically I am concerned regarding the stock options that the management has been exercising which has cut into the company's profit growth even as revenues has been growing substantially. From what I have read from forums and articles this issue has made many investors and institutes concerned about the company's prospects and why the stock prices have been so depressed the last few months. Unless the management can restore investor's confidence and show the growth potentials which Wall Street expects, this company will not be moving up anytime soon. Ultimately, I am swayed towards the stock because of its cheap price and the patents/products that the company holds and the belief that the management will put a stronger emphasis on growing the company instead of lining their wallets with stock options.

Another one sold off on panic that should get things turned back around in due time.
Recs
expect stronger wifi market development based on wireless auction and clearwire deal with sprint
