A growing food company with healthy snacks and an interesting history of slow, steady genuine success.

SNAK is a nice micro-cap snack food manufacturer and distributor that is building its niche with a split strategy: healthy convenience foods and traditional indulgent snacks. Their 'healthy convenience foods' is a growing segment and now comprises about 50 percent of revenue. Partners in the healthy part of the business include Jamba, and Radar fruit growers, which they recently acquired. The Indulgent side of the company counts Seattle's Best frozen drinks, TGI Friday chips and onion rings and Burger King as partners in strategic marketing initiatives.

The company's flagship house brand is Boulder Canyon all-natural kettle chips, pallets of which I just saw stacked at my local Costco. Inventure is headquartered in Phoenix, has a market cap of 259M and has manufacturing facilities in Arizona, Indiana, Washington and Oregon. In the past five years sales have increased 200%. The stock is up 93% for 2013, p/e (ttm) is 38.13 (Yahoo) as of 1/1/14. Inventure Foods was named one of Forbes Best Small Companies for 2013. I see a bright future for Inventure as it continues to build on its 'healthy convenience' component, a burgeoning segment of the food industry. In addition I see it as a viable acquisition candidate in the next few years as the big food producers seek to round out their 'natural' and 'healthy' brands. I think it has just four or five analysts following the stock.

I have owned shares for about a year and am considering adding more this month.

It is a growing company and coffee will boost it even higher. It should average about 15 to 20% growth a year.

Great brand portfolio. Seems to be flattening out on moving averages and is just now slightly oversold. Lots of potential with this one for a long hold.

From personal experience... these folks cannot keep their items on the store shelves. Their products are everywhere: From the corner stores, bodega, laundromat vending machines, and all small supermarkets. As long as this fat nation consumes
junk food there is money in this baby.

They are constantly coming out with new brands of snack food, and their chips brand is slowly increasing in market share. They will continue to product goods, and they have a good amount of cash
