Propane, as a fuel, enjoys a captive clientele – those people who live too far from natural gas transmission lines to heat with NG and too smart to heat with electricity. Suburban Propane Partners (SPH) is the ‘go to’ choice for almost one million… More

Good "green" company, well at least it is not forign oil. Propane and Natural Gas should be a major play for our economy in the years ahead. Now I'm not saying it will be... but it should. It's developed here, we have a 100+ year supply with more being made avalible every day. Now its not as SEXY as wind or solar but it is more realistic. There is already the means in place to run cars. Many service stations already carry it. It is cheaper and more efficient to heat your home and water as well as all that back yard BBQ fun. I look to see nice returns from this as well as a good solid divedend. And like Hank Hill says... pass me another beer.

This stock was included in the Morningstar "Dividend Portfolio," until Nov. 2007 when it was sold to raise funds for other investments, I am keeping SPH for my portfolio. I use the "Dividend Portfolio" as my core stock group. I highly suggest anyone interested in dividend income take a look at this grouping of quality income producing stocks.
