he world's largest pure-play provider of Flash memory solutions, today announced that it has received the Best Partner Award from Inventec Group. Spansion provides its proprietary MirrorBit(R) NOR Flash memory solution for Inventec's set-top-box products.

SPSN already achieved a dominant position in NOR and its lead over its competition is increasing due to its excellent execution both in technology development and manufacturing prowess. NAND will not replace NOR because its emulation of NOR functionality is not economical. However, there is potential in SPSN's ORNAND technology to grab some of NAND's market although that remains to be seen.
