This met a high level screen to indicate a sell and strong underperform against its peers (other tickers in its industry). My 1st version of this spreadsheet devles deep into the company's balance sheet and recent income statements, combined with other relevant price data for the company including insider/institutional holdings, short interest, debt levels, etc.
I'm testing capabilities of this 1st version of my automated, valuation spreadsheet matched with my personal criteria and see how it holds up.

Medical Waste processing company. With healthcare demand skyrocketing and ever growing fears for spreading germs, this company is facing a bonanza of future business.

Medical waste processing company - what's not to like. With the baby boomers starting to retire, there should be a lot more medical waste over the next few years.

My wife is crazy over this stock. She has spent hours researching press, reading blogs and ripping through their SEC filings and she swears that this "green" stock will bring our retirment IRAs great returns over the next 2-3 years. Time will tell what happens to our 8,500 share! I love you honey:-) -- daydreaming about retirement on a residential cruise ship as we hit 100 ports of call each year.

Market up, market down, this company is sound. Ride this company with the aging babyboomers. First in class and adding new business. Watch out that they do not expand too quickly. As they increase their global reach they may spread themselves too thin.

Stericycle is a fast- growing processor of medical waste, with revenues and profits growing in excess of 20% a year. It serves a variety of clients including a recently received contract from the U.S. military. The medical waste business is one area which is essentially recession proof. It is, however, one in which safe handling of the collected waste to be disposed of is critical. In this area Stericycle is outstanding.

Over $20 million in insider buys lately. Great niche, consistently under the radar, and great growth. The "shhhh don't talk about me to anyone and I'll reward you" stock. Will eventually be bought out or targeted down the road. A dividend down the road would be great!

The tremendous growth thus seen in the waste management sector is going nowhere even in the face of a recession this summer. Bill Gates sure called this sector a few years ago when he invested gobs of money into it becuase he saw an oppertunity. Well, folks that oppertunity is still there, and I see this entire sector continuing up. The laughable P/E of all of these companies will soon disappear. Time to jump on board if you haven't already.

Sales and EPS have risen in each of the past 7 years. The profit margin has been slowly shrinking the past 3 years, but is still above 22%, so that is pretty good. The ROE has been averaging about 17% for the past 4 years, so that also is decent. The debt-to-equity has been rising sharply over the past 3 years, so that is a major concern. Slowing margins and rising debt is not a good combination. The P/E is above historic norms, so the stock is fairly expensive. Add in the fact that the PEG ratio is over 2.00 and this stock is not cheap by any standards. With sales and EPS growing nicely, the stock could grow into these valuations. Right now I think the stock is a buy, but the rising debt and falling profit margin makes this stock one that you would need to keep your eye on. I own this in real life and it has done very well for me. However, I follow the stock fairly closely, so am not too worried about it. If you buy this stock, you will need to keep an eye on the profit margin and the debt load to make sure that the future growth of the company can offset these problems. Caveat emptor.

Stericycle is the hazardous material garbage truck for all hospitals, clinics, labs, vets, pharmacies, etc. in america. They recently purchased the British version in 2004. They are the leaders in the industry and are well positioned for the next five years. "The Company uses this network to provide a range of services to its customers. Its medical waste treatment technologies include its proprietary electro-thermal-deactivation system, or ETD, as well as traditional methods such as autoclaving and incineration." taken from their business summary.

Stericycle. INC. "Medical Waste" Company. Somebody has to do this job right. This company has plenty of work right now. Hospitals and clinics are swamped with work right now. When people get REALLY STRESSED out they usually start to have problems health wise because their bodies don't like being STRESSED all the time. Our minds play a big part in that. We need this company so we don't have problems like they did in Las Vegas just recently.
Invest in your health so you don't get a letter from a clinic that happens to mention to you that they reuse their needles to save on their budget. Go figure that.... We need a company like Stericycle in our lives.....
