Upthumb. Huge sales growth rate. No debt. Plenty of cash. Chinese company with connections and dubioius products by Western standards. But the approach is successful in light of historical perceptions in China. I would not bet on a short with this company.

Biotech stocks scare me with their drastic changes based on what seem to be minor news and simply their general unpredictability. However, it does appear that this company is a great growth opportunity, and a Fool writer seems to agree ("The Cheapest Stocks I Know"). So, though I'm generally a value investor, I'm taking a stab at this growth opportunity.

New Chief Science Officer, Dr Yingfei Wei came from a company, Elixirin, ( http://www.elixirin.com/ ) that sold an anti aging pill based upon green tea leaves, just when green tea leaves were steaming (haha). Now she heads a bio-pharm that some describe as the next Amgen? Pitches describe no R&D as a good thing because pirating drugs is easy and cheap. So giving them our investment dollars is smart because they steal? All the cash on the books came from a share issuing without which this company has no money. I guess the money was needed for the R&D they do not do? The interest from the stock offering doubled their earnings. Not sales. Also there is a very nice picture of a building on their website. They pitch EPIAO as a help with anemia in cancer patients but apparently it has other uses, more fitting to Ms Wei's experience selling anti-aging creams. http://www.globalsteroids.com/y1Epiao-.html Their other "flagship product" TPIAO does not exist on the web except in stock analysis or press releases.

Their website also has a message board, one would assume would likely be used for discussions of the drugs side effects, benefits, that sort of thing. You would think at least one person would have a complaint. Pay special attention to the "managers answers" they will tell you what this company does besides build bodys. And keep reading until you come to some english questions. It is amazing what people will talk about on this Biopharm website.

I suppose it is possible that this mail order steroid will become FDA approved for use with cancer treatments, and this company will go on to be the "next amgen", but I think your money would be safer in the "real amgen".

On every fundamental basis this company is cheap. From a growth perspective it is VERY cheap. Management seems to have a better track on managing in an economy and market that most do not understand and have dome a remarkable job in growing it conservatively to date - a sign of good management. There seems to be a great deal of respect to equity holders and manage their balance sheet accordingly. Stock looks like an easy double from these levels near term as the market regains its feet.

Ouch, I bought into this bad boy back during the October China buy-spree. If it dips below 8 again, I may sell. Otherwise hold on for a while and hope to break even some months down the line...

3SBio has drugs on the market, drugs in the pipeline, future projects, and is continuing to seek markets in other countries; all of which, add up to growth.

Testing out a portfolio of smallish-cap 5-star stocks found using the CAPS screener. All picks have at least 50 allstars backing them, which should be enough to minimize star rating fluctuations. It's been less than a week, but so far so good!

Although the Chinese theology is geared towards natural healing and medicines, Western influence is slowly creeping into it's culture. There will be a long process to make the change where pharmaceutical products are widely distributed in China, however, the manufacturing will greatly increase as long as quality control is strict. With the issues that they have had on exported products, lead base, etc, consumers may be wary of anything pharmacalogical that comes from inside the great wall of China. It will eventually happen but this will be a long process.

score of 0 on my 12 point scale due to bad debt management. 60% of stocks scoring 6 or less have underperformed the S&P500
