European troubles are zinging Santander harder than I thought they would. Still, this is one of the world's premier banks and it has significant exposure to growing markets in South America.

Regional diversification and a slow but steady recovery in the Eurozone will carry this stock through. Patience will be a must, as events will cause volatility over the next couple of years. Buy now and be happy later.

I am ready to get long on this one. Very stable. Plenty of capital. I think they can weather any major problem in Europe. Nice growth in Latin America.

Good dividend, but not a stable one. I like the numbers, and they have a ton of cash on hand, plus they aren't only doing business in Europe. Probably make this one 0.75% of portfolio.

S&P has dropped the axe so tactically, it's time to sell the news, that is, go long. Strategically, there is no longer any risk of financial crisis because the ECB has turned on the printing press, redistributing the savings of consumers to bankrupt bankers. Just as it was time to buy WFC at $8 in 2009, you don't want to miss the train now.

It's well diversified enough to start riding the wave, particularly due to its strength in Latin America. It can only go up.

Brazilian Bank will outperform five years and longer.
Large Market Cap, plenty of cash and now is a good entry point. I am long. Adequate dividend under 10%
Less risk.

I wouldn't bet the farm, but we are closer to the end than the beginning of Europe woes, and this one has other exposure. Could take a while to reverse course.

Who knows how bad their balance sheet actually is and they're the one of the biggest players in a Europe in financial crisis, but the dividend is sustainable-ish and banks like this don't go out of business. Also I don't think having the PP in charge of Spain does them any harm.

The continuing crisis in the Euro zone will pull the price of STD down.

This company is fundamentally strong, classic baby that gets thrown out with the bath water. I expect a strong rebound for this stock.

STD has been under a lot of selling pressure due to economic downturn in Europe. The bank itself seems very sound financially and in fact, does not depend upon the European market for most of its profit. I think that at this price, we're looking at a huge bargain.
