Recently, Morgan Stanley increased Russia's ``overweight'' position relative to the makeup of the MSCI EM Index by 50 basis points. the rationale for this has been the rising energy prices and bouyant economic growth in the russian economy. thus compaines such as GAZPROM OAO have seen their earnings increased significantly. the russian market clearly tops the emerging markets index.
it appears that the global economic slowdon is unlikely to affect russia as much.

Russian stocks are inexpensive and political risk have declined. this gives an added impetus for the decision to rate this stock highly
