Way overbought – price action due to huge spike in platinum prices – due to sharp correction – this baby is ready to short a week ago sell at 22 and buy back around 10 bucks.

Supply of platinum from Africa has seen a slowdown due to concerns about electricity supply. This will cause increased prices for platinum over the short term. Some "experts predict this problem could presist for a longer term.

while there is a lot of platinum & palladium left, there seems to be something wrong with management as they can't seem to make a profit.

This stock has taken a breather for a few days, but soon it will be back on the march upward. Platinum prices continue to move upward and no sign of a slowing in demand. I think the uncertain electricity situation in South Africa has caused the drop in price but as the picture becomes clearer and platinum begins to climb again, you will see a rise in this stock. And the new initiative described here http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/080311/0373275.html may cause the demand for their product to increase. The commodity bull market should take this stock much higher when it resumes and the price of this stock today will look cheap in 6 months. I am placing my bets on platinum, paladium and silver. I see them all much higher in 6 months.

The metals they produce may not be as glamorous and exciting as silver or gold but precious metals that are used the in enviromental catalysts seems to make more sense than chasing the gold rush.

SWC is a beaten down stock with excellent fundamentals due to the platinum group metal super bull cycle. See:

up 100% in last month, time to short

they'll find some other use for platinum besides in just autos.

inflation is coming and this company produces metals 30X more precious than gold.

Palladium demand is set to rise dramatically.

May be the next commodity to fall short in supply and raise in demand. I foresee palladium to be the next metal to go high like coal.

Sweetwater silver is finding a lot of silver.

With inflation going up, the US dollar going down, and considering the state of the US economy, I think precious metal miners are going to do well for the next year. This one has had a huge decline and is ready to reverse trend. With metals like platinum and palladium in short supply, plus being a producer outside South Africa, Stillwater has more upside potential than downside.

An ok company, but its stock is really cheap right now. Good to buy at $7 or less.

marketwatch big loser

seems pretty cheap for a precious metal producer.

platinum hedges end this year..
decreased plat/palladium production from south africa..

This, is a curious senario. Silver & palladium they say are to cheap now for profitable minning. But Russian researves are withheld info they say. Which makes no differance when your control is graeter than OPEC is to oil. Added bullion at $202 oz about ten year low today. SWC is 50% owned by Russia, who is looking say a little annoyed and pushy recently. The last time this supply was cut around 98 or 2000 Ford drove the price to $1,100 plus. This seems unlikely but unless demand justifies price and supply, This fool thinks Palladium will outperform maybe only for a flash, gold going away.

When things turn around it will be a result of the governments around the world having pumped money of all kinds into the system. This will cause a surge in inflation as economies start to tick up. That's why I've been and continue to be bullish on precious metals and the miners of said metals. Really, anything that is sensitive to inflation is a good place to be.
The armageddon nuts and gold bugs always think that gold is the place to be, but in this case that does not mean they are wrong.
You can blame TMFBreakerDave for me adding pitches to so many of my picks.

Palladium is more malleable than gold... Mark my words: This is going to be the next big hit in the Dentistry field. It does not get any cheaper than this. Palladium = Bling Bling!
