Great company to have for your retirement account. It won't outperform the S&P anytime.

AT&T is stable due to an assist from the iPhone, or so the stories go according to the 3Q earnings announcement. Will that be enough for investors? I have no skin in this game, but I expect that market fears of the consequences of a loss of iPhone exclusivity will depress this stock over time.

Deteriorating wireline business which makes up nearly half of their revenues and income. Increased traffic from the millions of iPhones make operating expenses higher. The iPhone has added many subscribers, but they could leave for another carrier in 2011 when the exclusive agreement with Apple (AAPL) terminates.

Internal policies in this company are hurting costumer’s services. From unknown charges from services that you no longer have. Resolve and troubleshoot a problem takes days even if they contractual need to resolve them in 4 hours. Costumers support, I will rate as lowest that I ever deal with. Claims take months to resolve. Internal business segmentation is preventing “costumer services manager” to do a good job. They even agree with the customer that they are powerless to resolve any emergency problem. Help desk are in Singapore what I can say when they are reading the answers and questions from a script. I wander why they are losing costumers. With enough time they will get the same road of Worldcom. Does anyone remember?

All I want to say is that T has made billions of dollars and I-phone exclusives but only 1 problem. The street doesn't like the stock one bit. The stock hasn't budge. Apple basically let T be its crash test dummy for the i-phone (to see what works and what won't). They also considered ending the exclusivity deal this year (agreed to stay one more year). Not to mention the name changes over the recent years. Why? Their reputation is slowly taking a beating (at least among consumers). While I don't believe everything that I see, I have noticed copmplaints about the company going up (e.g., billing, coverage concerns, etc). See what happens when they miss an number. I could be wrong but this is (as I see it) SBC wearing AT&T's clothing. The dividend is one thing that makes this stock worth looking at. Possible labor unrest doesn't help matters either.

AT&T is nothing without Apple, and yet Apple does not benefit very much from the partnership. So I am going to be extremely daring and speculate that Apple will not renew its contract with AT&T in 2010. With the release of the new 3G S iphone, there are numerous new features (faster bandwidth rate, tettering, SMS) that are not supported on the AT&T. Thus, Apple will likely go to Verizon (its original choice when the iphone was first being developed) because of the better network that could more fully utilize the features of the iphone. Plus, by expanding its availability to other network, Apple wins by growing the consumer base and gaining more of the smart phone market share in the process.

Company has severly damaged it's credibility with new younger iPhone users who will be less will to stay with the Company once it no longer has an exclusive contract with apple.

Company needs to make significant network & customer service/image investments or face customer loss to companies with superior service & networks.

Divided payout is ~70%. Either the divided gets cut or the price drops.

This crappy company laid one of my friends off. He was making 80 grand a year. He was replaced by a guy in India probably making half of that. American Thieves and Thugs are at it again doing what they do best. These multinational corporations don't care. Cheapest labor, cheapest everything in exchange for slave labor. T you've done it again. Get ready for Q1 numbers you swine. Unioin needs to get the hell out of Detroit and move to China.

Wait until the product to compete with cable phone service comes out at end of 2008 - beginning of 2009. The competition should really heat up then. Price should drop a few more points before it starts to go up.
