Part of a screener test. I looked at 4-5 star stocks, with a dividend yield above 2.5%, gross margins above 25%, price 0-50% below 52-week high, with 3-year EPS of 5+, P/E < 40. These are all interesting PEGY plays for me.

This is a real-life holding of mine through my investment club.

Since 2011, sales have grown at an annual compound rate of 10%, and EPS has grown at an annual compound rate of 14%. The profit margin has grown over the past 2 years, as has the earned-on-equity. The debt-to-equity is very high, averaging about 420% over the past 3 years. The current P/E is within the trading range of the past 2 years, so is fairly reasonably priced. The PEG ratio is an attractive 0.69. The stock pays a dividend yield of about 8%, which is very good.

I think that the stock, if the company keeps up with current growth rates, could increase about 14% annually over the next several years. Add in that attractive 8% dividend yield, and I am hoping for a 22% annual compound yield out of this investment, potentially even more if I reinvest the dividends. Here's hoping it plays out as hoped.

Recent sharp pullback, taking the 6.5% yield, especially as the market is due for a correction. Yield should keep stock price afloat, especially if it continues to increase

This is a high-yield, growing dividend story. TAL turned up in research for High Yield: Stocks or Bonds?
http://www.fool.com/investing/dividends-income/2013/07/01/high-yield-stocks-or-bonds.aspx

TAL is in the business of leasing shipping containers. The company sports a 6+% yield and has been steadily cranking up the payout for the last three years.

The bull case:
High, growing dividend.
Improving economy, even sluggish improvement, should be good for trade = demand for shipping containers.
Strong business moat. This business requires a global infrastructure to track, stack and shuffle containers.

Bear case:
Lots of debt.
That improving economy may turn out to be a mirage.

Pick start price: $43.59

Disclosure: Long TAL, fortunately at a lower price than my CAPS pick.

TAL International is a containers company. It has ~99% utilization rate, steady cash flow, and a business model that makes it easier to see into the future (lease structures range anywhere from 1-8 years). Their leases also ensure that they have limited liability for damages done to the containers.

Out of their base of 300 customers include all 25 of the world's largest shipping lines, including Maersk. Although there is significant customer concentration, this is the case for most companies in this business.

I am slowly cost averaging a position here. Nice yield. I am worried about a correction in the market, slow sluggish growth.
