Global growth is yet to stagnate, nor will it. Everyone seems worried about a Chinese correction. Even if this does happen, it will not affect the GROWTH of development and demand for metals/materials from booming economies like China and India. A correction will be seen as an adjustment to the valuation of companies, vs. a real slowdown in growth. Further, Chinese GDP is in the doube digits right now, if it slows, to say 8%, that's still extremely strong. A company like this with more than enough cash to weather a downturn, sound fundamentals, a very low P/E, and the desire to grow will be a great bet.

This is a strong and well managed Canadian company with exposure to alot of commodities such as tungsten, oil sands and now copper. Maybe overpaid for AUR but AUR was way under valued and has alot of potential.

One of the best run miners. They are also the big gorilla in nickel. The growing industrial economies of BRIC will continue to consume more and more of this valuable commodity. Can't make Stainless Steel without nickel!!!

I love this company. However, I think that rising interest rates, the capping of "exuberance" in China will keep basic materials sidelined.

Zinc. These guys are the major zinc producer. London Metal Exchange stocks of zinc are down to just 2.5 days consumption. That's a pretty tight supply. China is soaking up metals like a sponge. Any spike in demand or supply deliver problem will spike prices. Any company that can get zinc to the market place would profit from premium prices. Metals are still on a long term bull market. It's not too late to jump onboard.

Due to the coming recession as well as supply/demand issues, the metals (and the mining companies) should continue to increase in price.

There are 2 ways to play metal stocks. Buy the little guys and hope they get bought out or own the big guys who do the buying. I'll take the 2.65% dividend yield on this one while it eats up the small frys.
