TransDigm Group Incorporated designs, produces, and supplies engineered aircraft components for use on commercial and military aircraft principally in the United States. The company offers mechanical /electro-mechanical actuators and controls used in actuation applications; ignition systems and components, such as igniters, exciters, and spark plugs used to start and spark turbine and reciprocating aircraft engines; gear pumps used primarily in lubrication and fuel applications; specialized valves used in fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications; engineered connectors used in fuel, pneumatic, and hydraulic applications; power conditioning devices used to modify and control electrical power; specialized fluorescent lighting; and specialized AC/DC electric motors and components. TransDigm Group also provides aircraft audio systems; engineered latching and locking devices used in various bin, security, and other applications; lavatory hardware and components; rods and locking devices used primarily to hold open cowlings to allow access to engines for maintenance; specialized cockpit displays; elastomers used in various clamping and heating applications; NiCad batteries/chargers used to provide starting and back-up power; and starter generators and related components. Its customers include distributors of aerospace components; commercial airlines, including national and regional airlines; commercial transport and regional and business aircraft original equipment manufacturers (OEMs); various armed forces of the United States and foreign governments; defense OEMs; system suppliers; and various other industrial customers. The company was founded in 1993 and is based in Cleveland, Ohio.
