I found Tech Data using a screen that looks for stocks with low price/sales ratios and positive revisions to earnings estimates. Over the past 9 year, this screen has outperformed the market by approximately 14% per year when rebalanced once per year. Although Techdata is only a 3 in CAPS, it has a 9 Stockscouter rating, which tends to imply significant outperformance over the next six months. The company sells information technology and logistics management worldwide. The company's longterm return on equity is a dismal 4%, but downside risk seems limited due to the company's conservatively financed balance sheet and the fact that the company is priced at 1.04 times book value.

2/20/09 Pitch: Downthumb. Earnings 3/3/09, 9:00 AM. Company withdrew guidance last quarter. Also gave assurances that it would not be needing a "massive" draw on debt financing. Nevertheless, it did say that it had access to $1Billion in credit. Company has D/E ratio of about 0.2. Likely to experience a massive slowdown in orders, imo.

11/17/08 Pitch: Upthumb. Earnings 11/25/08, 9:00 AM Great price for a strong company.Closed 2/12/09 @ $19.46 for +5.78 points.
