Downthumb. Good cash flow. Mediocre sales growth. High debt ratio. Low short ratio. Optimistic street.

I can't stand Walmart and will go to Target to fight the Ugly competitor any day...A low price isn't the only factor for savvy consumers..clever marketing, being a good steward to their employees etc make the world go around in my book.

In this economy, we've still got to buy necessities. You can go to WalMart, buy crap and feel dehumanized, go to Costco and leave wondering how the @#$% you spent so much money, or go to Target, feel cool, and know you're getting good values. Long term, it's Target FTW.

It isn't walmart, yet it's got everything anyone needs for decent prices, in not as big a store. It's popularity will continue, especially with families.

Target owns its stores and usually owns the land under the stores making this a real estate as well as a retail pick. Based on same store sales for April, it turns out that not everyone is buying everything at Walmart. Not yet anyway. Outperform.

Target has a unique nitch in the "nitchless retail world". People profess love for the retailer on places such as UTUBE and MySpace. The company is headed by a great "team" of brilliant and creative leaders.

Back-to-school momentum never really quit, and now with extra cash in customers' pockets with lower gas prices, expect to see Target take off. Plus, the last quarter will be strong with holiday shopping.

Target is still a cheap retailer that offers better quality and service than walmart, kmart, etc. The economy isn't bad enough that people will sacrifice this for cheaper stuff.

Since it was the "Battle of the Discounters" article that made me sign up, might as well pitch my two cents. I'm not comfortable investing in a company that people go out of their way to make bad press about... Walmart, whether it deserves it or not, has the animosity of thousands to compete against.

Target continues to play its niche in the retail segment well. Their low cost chic approach seems to resonate with their audience. I don't know their financials that well, but they seem to be doing a good job with their operations. Lastly, I think they have a good advertisement team that keeps their image up.

All of the upside potential found in WMT, except it still has room to grow.
