During the current downturn, middle class consumers may shift purchases away from "ritzier" stores and turn to Target for clothes and other goods that still have a luxury good or high-class feel. Examples: Isaac Mizrahi clothes for women, "chic" kitchen items

With the government giving out extra tax refund money to "stimulate" the economy, consumer spending will be up in the next few months. Look for Target to be in a position to benefit from the government's economic solutions.

Discount retailer, but without the terrible crowds and unreliable service of WMT. Once they let the Salvation Army bell-ringers return, I can end my boycott.

Target has a unique nitch in the "nitchless retail world". People profess love for the retailer on places such as UTUBE and MySpace. The company is headed by a great "team" of brilliant and creative leaders.

Target is a huge rival of Walmart. Walmart has seen a decrease in the expansion in their stock value recently. Target has seen nothing but increases. This is because Target offers competitive pricing on the same goods sold at Walmart but in a quality atmosphere. I shop at Target as do most people in my community.

The fundamentals on this stock are outstanding. The retail sector is the last place to be in a bear market, but Target has a lot of cash and low debt. The 11.1% 5 year growth and 15.7% 5 year income are very attractive for an organization with an EPS of 3.34 and 42+ Billion Market Cap. This cash cow is poised to outperform its sector in the next 2 to 4 years.

poor economy will drive people toward stores like Target and Walmart. Higher quality merchandise then Walmart gives Target a leg up. Pricing near yearly lows. Buy great companies for a good price, rather then bad companies at a cheap price.

This is the store that makes Walmart green with envy. Great items, fabulous prices, and CLEAN stores. I don't feel like I just stepped into a bargain store, and I don't shop there because that's all I can afford. I shop there becuase there's no reason to pay more for the same item somewhere else! Also, great online shopping website...

Go with what you know. I shop at Target a couple times a week. They've had 5 years excellent growth and are currently in the market to sell their credit card business, which would give the company substantial liquidity. I don't believe consumers will stop spending in this market, especially considering the government's tax "spending" incentive refunds.

Strong mid level retailer that should stand out in the big box retailer crowd. New lines for summer along with possible sale of a portion of its credit card division should provide a nice turnaround story over teh next 12 months
