Big hospitals should have flexibility to continue consolidating market share and negotiating power with insurers and thereby achieving reasonable margins.

Everyone is afraid of hospitals until they need them. Do you see health care costs going down any time soon!

1) Wiki. However, wiki not accurate, net income exaggerated.
2) Community Health Systems on Monday increased its bid for Tenet Healthcare to $7.25 a share from $6, in the latest effort to win over the reluctant company.

I feel that THC is well positioned to go up at this point of time. I think they investments has started to come around, and having just passed the 50 day average, I think the upside is much better especially considering their current price which is very favorable to retail investors.

Piotroski score.

I say it has too much debt, though.

Solid cash flow, growth potential and analysts have it rated a BUY with a $6.50 target price. Sometimes it pays to follow the "in crowd".

BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- The investment party of the last year has raged on in a lot of places, but few were as loud or wild as at Tenet Healthcare Corp., a company whose shares are up almost 500% over the last 52 weeks.

That's no typo. Every dollar invested a year ago is worth five dollars today.

For investors who were skeptical a year ago as the market was bottoming out, such a huge gain can make them want to join the crowd. Alas, by the time they arrive, the smart money often has moved on, leaving the average guy with nothing more than leftovers.

Tenet Healthcare has ardent supporters who believe the party can keep on rocking, but this poster child for the market's rebound has flipped its risk-reward picture from a year ago, turning it into the Stupid Investment of the Week.

Since the Medicare debt and sale of losing venues
has been taken care of, management has come
back to black bottom lines. With the health care
industry and aging patients leading the wave of the
future, I have a sense of increasing revenue and profits
in the coming years. ijkaras

Considering that the stock plummeted to well below $1 and within the same year has climbed and holding steady (so far) at nearly $6 it is likely that this will increase by years end. 2010 should be a better year depending on what the earning report will reveal, since in 09' there has been a steady increase in revenue and should THC continue this trend, investor confidence will jump the wagon for profits!
