housing market (and related) recovery may take longer than a few years, I'm happily willing to wait, unlike Mr. Market (today).

Carpet tiles for office building and commercial buildings. Really impressive same store sales. If they cane expand the store base too we could see some really nice compounding.
Next step for me is to learn about their people, how do they bring new hires in? Is there an advantage there?

A slow ploder for ten years has made steady progress in design and production of quality low cost durable office and commercial fabrics. With major objective established for near zero waste the capital investments are set to offer significant returns. This is a Green company that will now be a Trotter and bring green cover to our portfolio.

Ya.... That would be nice.... but I don't think so. They are not going to go out of business anytime soon, but 100million/year in profit when they have never broken even after interest and taxes? Wouldn't you rather invest some small tech star with these numbers?

demand for commercial and office fabric products will lag. The company commitment to zero waste and the continued management dedication to employee retention will benefit long term investment.

The company has completely purged the acquisition excesses of the late 1990's and is now completely focused on its core business, carpet tile. It's the industry leader in every respect, and the profits drove $20 stock prices a couple of years ago. The market punished the shares unfairly because of the concern for total economic collapse and the idea that carpet is always a discretionary purchase. Now this issue is fading away...

Prospects may look a bit grim at the moment, but this is the type of company to thrive in adversity. A valuable buy at almost any price.

Interface has several long-term programs going that should bear fruit over the next several years. They've captured the value of a lot of the "low hanging fruit" on operational efficiency measures and now are moving on toward reducing their energy consumption and environmental footprints. In the short term these efforts tend to absorb cash, but I expect that over the next 10 years we'll see some strong payoffs.

Commerical construction and government spending remain strong. These are Interfaces' main mairkets. They are ahead of curve vs compettors in adopting recycling programs and other green initiatives - Given that resources are becoming more scarce, this may prove an edge in keeping costs down.

Lower Corporate spending will take a toll on volume in next year, but downsizing usually inolves spending on interiors too.
