So Im seeing a pattern that is really working for all stocks and not just this one. They are so worried about shorts and currently, this is certainly working.

Short first.....it will drop about 4 or 6 cents and stop (hardly enough to pay for the trade) but they are so determined to shake out that short position that they will not realize that youre buying on the way up. So far, works every time with absolutely no fear in the market. Looks like Im the only one who is affraid of waking up to DOW at 1000 pts.

Tivo is a steal at 6.60 after an 11% drop yesterday. The bad news was not that bad for the makers of America's visual crack storage box. This stock will recover this 11% and 15% more by Christmas. Don't you and all of your neighbors have Tivo's?

The battle for control of the digital living room will begin in earnest in 2007 with the acquisition of Tivo by Apple, Microsoft or some other large player. Tivo's installed base of roughly 3 million machines will be a perfect entry into establishing a beach head to own the market for digital video downloading to the TV set and controlling the media for a home from a central server. The current Tivo box is merely the 1.0 version of this central media server.

The business model was sort of cutting edge when it first came out, but now it's stupid. The technology Tivo provides is widely available in generic DVR boxes either provided by cable companies or by electronics retailers, and they expect people to pay for a subscription outside of their regular cable bill? Come on.

Technology that depends on people having a "box" on their TV seems very susceptible to being overtaken by cloud technology and advanced DVR technology from cable and satellite providers.

My first post and I'm new to the market, just to let everyone know. I got in at 6.90 a few weeks back. I felt and still do feel just like twopairfullhouse. Todays (10/24) top mover on the NASDAQ helps to confirm this feeling somewhat. Transmeta settled with Intel and the stock soared, up 200+%. Can't we expect the same to happen to TIVO, so long as the "85% chance" comes through and TIVO wins? Like I said, I'm new, so I'm sure I'm overlooking something horendously, but it made me feel a lot better about putting my money on TIVO. Just seems that there are points to be had here.

TiVo is a great appliance company that's practically begging to be purchased by a longer-established company. Personally, I'd like to see Apple buy out TiVo; the two practially make the same kinds of devices as it is. But the filed of possible candidates is rather wide. Any computer company who buys TiVo could finally find a winning formula for using a PC as an entertainment device. Any electronics company who buys TiVo could easily develop a credible iPod challenger. If the stock's price remains on the roller coaster, TiVo could make for a very cheap acquisition during a down cycle.
