Company rolling with the tide. Well positioned to capture his share + in near future of billions being pumped into infrastructure ,among a few other should have already plowed the fields, and one major boost for the U.S. and globally ,because solid numbers will show in the new job market ,which should help with retail and housing, unlike oil, which cuts back on everything with all the limits and regulation, not to mention were up to our eyeballs in this mess and it's been time to move out of the cave,at least to a tent.China's already making big moves in this area to get set up for the change, and will most likely take longer than most western countries, but the U.S. could easily be free of much of the outdated infrastructure in communication, utilities, the thick air filled smut in many of our major cities, and most important off this dependency of old smold,a NO.1 problem holding back the job markets and life itself.

Hmm...well penetrated in markeet with high barriers to entry providing mission critical leak monitor and control systems serving multiple industrials...share price increase based on real, steady earnings...low risk, high reward! I like it.

Telvent appears to be an internationally strong company. Compared to others in their sector, they are cheap and a little safer. They provide consulting to for a wide range of industries. This gives them a diverse customer base, hedging them against losses. I'm still not sure how I feel about them in terms of putting them in my portfolio but at first glance I like them to beat the S&P.

Telvent is a truly global company, which protects it against weak economic conditions in any single market. Competition is limited because of high barriers to entry in the industries it serves. People might be hesitant to buy because not many people truly understand what Telvent does, but they are recognized by customers (both existing and potential) as a market leader. They are doing great thing in the Energy sector, having recently been named 2008 Company of the Year by Frost and Sullivan for their Oil and Gas SCADA solutions. (SCADA = Control Center software and hardware). Regulatory pressures on oil pipeline companies are forcing them to turn to computer-based leak detection systems, and Telvent is the only company which offers both the control systems and the leak detection systems all in one -- a huge selling point which reduces purchase/maintenance costs for customers. All this with solid financials, and a string of recent acquisitions make TLVT a solid buy-and-hold for the next 3-5 years.
