Tullow is one of the largest independent oil & gas explorer in Europe. It has a large exposure to African oil, specifically in Ghana and Uganda. Tullow and its partners discovered the world-class Jubilee field in 2007. They control about a third of it. Oil reserves in the Jubilee Field are estimated to be between 800 million and 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil of the highest grade. They just began production on 12/15/10. Initial production expected from the field under the first phase is 120,000 barrels a day. They replacing reserves at an exciting rate. Tullow achieved 437% organic reserves and resources replacement in 2009. This follows-on from a record 1,232% organic replacement in 2008. This is not a cheap company by any means. This is a growth play.
