Time Warner will receive $9.25 billion from a $10.27-per-share one-time dividend from Time Warner Cable. Time Warner will unwind its 12.4% stake in an affiliate, New York Group, which will actually increase Time Warner's stake in Time Warner Cable to 85.2% from 84%.
Time Warner then plans to distribute its stake in Time Warner Cable to its own shareholders "in a tax-efficient manner," the company said.
The move will allow Bewkes to focus more on Time Warner's movie, television and magazine businesses.

Look out for TMX. Read an excerpt from Forbes:
"Latin America's richest man added more than $6 billion to his fortune this year. He sold off his stakes in MCI and Altria and used the proceeds to up his holding in Saks Inc; in his fixed line operator, Telmex; and in America Movil, his flagship wireless telecom outfit. The latest was a particularly smart move as America Movil's stock has almost doubled in the past year."
Now say something! THUMBS UP, TMX IS GOING A LONG WAY!

Communications are growing rapidly in Mexico and Latin america...
Recs
Look there are sill people in MX that don't have phone service. As the country profits from trade with the USA and Canada and other Latin American countries the need for communications will grow. TMX is the only option for phone service in the entire country. Pays a DIV. and has exposure to millions of people who want a telephone. What could go wrong? What if cellar phones become cheaper than land line telephone? But I don't think that will happen in the next five years. I am long TMX.
