The Company develops, manufactures and sells the Hi Art system, a radiation therapy system for the treatment of a variety of cancers.

Varian rapidarc and Elekta VMAT are going to eat tomotherapy for breakfast.

Like other med device manufacturers, this company will be acquired—at a price between $14-$20. This will take place in approx. 24-36 months.

There's a reason TOMO is trading below cash -- they're hemorrhaging money. It's on a long-term slide with no upcoming catalyst to reverse it.

Superb technology. Pray the rest works out.
Recs
Good technology with a good healthy back log. Price of machine is competitive with others out there. Should see a slow and steady increase as it gets adopted over the years and then a jump when it gets widely accepted.
Recs
speculative pick, technology has huge potential TOMO needs to execute. I find the current price very tempting as a purely speculative play. This one could go to zero... or it could jump back up to IPO pricing and beyond. cancer is going to kill more of us than any other disease and our population is aging.

This is a great company involved with perfecting radiation therapy in cancer. They are beginning to sell world wide their tomotherapy machines. There should be a huge potential over the next year for this company

Strong sales, especially overseas. University of Wisconsin ties. What's not to love...

TOMO had recent strong increases in backlog. They also work off their backlog in about 3 quarters. I'm estimating revs of $67.6M in the quarter ending Dec07. And $72M in the quarter after that. Regarding competition from VAR, it needs to be watched.
Target is $22 by the March option expiration.
It is not a stock you can buy and forget.
At the earnings call, listen to updated backlogs as well as revenues and guidance.
Progress towards a 40% gross margin and 15% operating margin are also factors.
Their proton therapy progress will also be something that could garner future interest if they can sound optimistic.
Investors should also track VAR, the main competitor.

I bought in the day of the IPO at 23.25, thought I was going to make a killing especially when it jumped to 27. the fact that they werent releasing earnings until after the market closed worried me. The moment I read the earnings statement I knew it was spin control and was lucky enough to still get 25.45 for my shares..even The Wisconsin State Journal(based in Madison where tomo is located) called their spin a bunch of B.S. I'm pretty sure I got out at the right time. "we have units ready to ship, but are customers arent ready" my ass...liars.

June 18 2007 IPO seems to have the bulls behind
Recs
Tomo's losses are accelerating, their revenue is below projections, management is scheming its level best to raid their shareholders equity while post-IPO euphoria has run up their market cap way past a rational valuation AND their technology is yesterday's mashed potatoes. They might be able to lay claim to the cheapest radiotherapy device on the market but what good is that really?
Patients who do their homework will forego the open surgery, chemo and radio trifecta altogether and opt for radiosurgery with Accuray's CyberKnife. Providers are just going to have to deal with that and the 2007 operating results are telling us that the move toward radiosurgery and away from conventional radiotherapy is already underway.
Accuray's earnings are due out 16 August and, contrary to Tomo's disappointing quarter, they are going to be above expectations. (See further analysis at ARAY.) The market will react by taking another look at TTPY and hitting the panic SELL, SELL, SELL button. If you've made money on TTPY's post-IPO run up, you're lucky. Take your money off the table and go home a winner.

They have an awesome cancer zapping product and I don't think cancer is going away anytime in the near future, so they should do very well. How many other companies have done so well so shortly after IPO?
Recs
Look at the numbers and you haveto expect this stock to outperform. With so many cases of cancer and no cure in sight, this company will continue to make big bucks selling their cancer zapping product. This is one of the few companies that has done well lately since its IPO.
Recs
Origin from the U of Wisconsin Medical School speaks to quality. Initially its product is unique and has a wide moat. The market is local and international.
Recs
Improved technology in a growing market (medical devices). Great management. They are also expanding in China and India. This stock has to be a winner. Can't see anything wrong with it.
