The husk of a railroad bankruptcy, this trust's day in the sun has finally come.

It owns over 800k of desert land in West Texas that was mostly thought worthless until they found oil underneath it.

Now the trust collects royalties on oil and gas production, easement income such as from pipelines, and is now using its water rights to provide water services to frackers.

Very illiquid, and the trust is mandated to repurchase itself. Pretty much all the cash goes towards buybacks and dividends, no crazy acquisitions or anything of that sort.

It's slowly, but very profitably, going out of business, and the longer it is held, the more value that should accrue. But very sensitive to oil prices, any crash would hurt income.

Not sure what investors see here to have driven up shares recently....you ca pretty much short anything any equity with the word Texas in it, and be assured of direction. Especially oil and gas properties like this one which doesn't even pay a div more than pennies. The oil boom is over in the near term so dump Texas into the Pacific in latest gap up.
