Degrading financials. Business already about as large as it can expect to get.
Recs
Safe place to park some cash. The yield is around 1%, but there is also a 3% annual stock dividend. Great balance sheet, essentially no debt. Long term there is a substantial likelihood of acquistion by a major food/confectionary operation since the top 2 executives (husband and wife) are getting on in years and own a big piece of the company. Market cap is around 1.65 billion so it could easily be aquired with the major holders willingness to sell. A large operation could put an ad campaign in place that could kick start sales.

I love tootsie rolls!

Candy always sells. the price of gas will hurt temporarily but it will out perform this year.

everyone love tootsie roll

Are we all looking at the same stock? I see dividends closer to 1%, earnings less than 5% of the stock price, and dismal growth prices. I see TR dropping significantly.
Recs
TR is underpriced compared to its cash and assets. TR has been giving a 3% stock dividend for as many years as I've been in the market. All I'm doing is waiting for a buyout which I feels will be within 5 years. The stock is should be selling in the $50. figure. Mitch

They are a strong cash balance company that can survive a major downturn in the market well.
Recs
who doesn't like tootsie rolls and tootsie pops. Its haloween and christmas sales season and their resolving several company issues to get back on track.
Recs
This is a profitable company that pays a dividend. The stock price is near the annual low and increasing. The product has a good sales history and shows no sign of slowing. Christmas candy season is rapidly approaching and this stock is one to buy.
