Cutting rates in a down market for market share . Expenses growing higher. No big storms in 2007 , and still no movement on the stock.
Needs a big overhaul to get back on track

Grossly oversold - - sucked down in the sub-prime torrent. Easily worth $70

I don't expect this one to do greatly over the S&P but at least a little. I'm actually a customer but never thought to look up the ticker until Cramer mentioned it yesterday. Shame on me. Product/service is great. Fundamentals look positive.

This has some great gain potential in an uncertain market. Look to see a steady climb over the next year.

Travelers is part of the insurance industry which has little or no growth. Therefore, the only way to grow (and obtain market share) is through taking customers from other insurance companies.
Travelers has a solid relationship with independent agents, which will be important as they look to grow their Personal Lines business. I don't see them coming out on top, but I expect a steady long-term growth as they increase their market share at the cost of larger (more complacent and defensive) insurers.

solid financial foundation coupled with more selective underwriting in personal & commercial lines casualty & property insurance - currently has excellent strategy at all levels of claim handling - has a very recognizable logo & company name (recently reacquired) - has strong expense savings-oriented management

Travlers will drop the St.Pauls name and get back their Red Umbrella logo from Citi Group . Jay Fishman will make this company grow with further aquisitions such as St. Paul . Look at the charts and their balance sheet . If this company can see another year with no large payouts it will grow .

This company is firing on all cylinders. Great management and good product, and lower exposure to catastophes will make this stock go up.

A MUCH lighter Hurricane season will provide greater than expected year end reports

Cheap insurance company. One of the best managers in the business. Great brand name.

Just a guess

consolidation in the P&C industry and investment in IT will make them a much stronger player in this space. There is a strong possibility of their being acquired by a foreign firm (Zurick and others) but even that event would be worth the wait. Their windstorm exposure to coastwise property has been mitigated by years of agressive re-underwriting and thier primary source of business is the small, well-respected intepenent insurance agent
