I believe the Fresh & Easy + smaller store models will continue to attract more and more market share from the young affluent buyers who do not want hot dog buns in sets of 8; mayonnase for 20 etc...

Mmm...grocery shopping online...

Best grocery store ever. Its a testament when Walmart is out there copying your business model.

The prices are going up people are not taking the risks

Tescos is massive in the products and services they offer, they dominate the UK market. And now they are opening "Fresh & Easy" stores in the US market, these stores are different than the UK stores but offer healthy and affordable alternatives. I would definately recommend this stock for growth.

I am finally going to jump on this wagon and go for the ride. Tesco's "Fresh and Easy" grocery markets are becoming a hit in various parts of Europe already. My Wife and I shop at one near our home. Between them and Trader Joe's, we eat very well and save a bundle over all of the major Grocery Chains. There are a few acceptions, They don't carry a large variety of brands, we learn to adjust. Theit self check-out is the simplest I've ever used. I normally avoid them at all costs, because they are so awkward and work about half the time.
These stores will be a big hit, I'm sure. With the dollar not going very far these days, this will be some relief.

Three words -- Supply Chain Management.

This company is expanding in the U.S., filling a niche. They are still getting their act together but growth expected over the next year.

This company is going to make Walmart's life hard in the near future. Not only does it sport a good P/E an acceptable P/Book a solid dividend, it also carries a healthy amount of cash and equivalents on it's books. Tesco is aggressively expanding in both the US (as Fresh 'n Easy Markets) and China with emphasis in lean operations and increasing it's operating margin. It wont be an easy road but this company is legit. Oh, and I talked to some people who have shopped at a number of these in Las Vegas and they say they absolutely love them.....some anecdotal evidence to back up quantitative analysis.

This place rules the Eastern European Market (Hungary and Austria, etc) as Costco and Walmart rule in the US. Expanding like mad.

As an American living in England, i've witnessed firsthand, the mighty power of Tesco. Wal-Mart is most certainly going to be given a very serious run for it's money, in the next few years to come.

Their Fresh & Easy market just opened near me -- it's a winner. These are going to be HUGE.

Tesco is the Walmart, and they're coming to the US. 500 stores here in the West with more to follow. The US Market is called Fresh 'n' Easy. www.freshandeasy.com

British retailer enter US, to shake up Wallmart dominance

Healthy sales growth, especially outside the UK and sales would have grown more in the UK if it wasn't for the disastrous summer weather.
Going long.

Mom, I have something to say about this company: People eat in London too.
Any of you american Fools have been at a Tesco ? :-) You were all mocking at me because I picked outperform on Sears and have never been at Sears or KMart, but hey, I've shopped in Tesco when I was learning how to play guitar in London, yay. Take that :)))
Tesco is cool, and a good managed contrarian like "Special Situations Fund" from Fidelity likes it too.
