Cheap wine from Australia is easy to drink, and easy to find.
When I heard Fosters was spinning off its higher-margin wine business, I got down to research. It is especially intriguing given the rising middle class play in Asia; those folks presumably will import higher grade goods. Wine fits the bill nicely and Austrailia is the best proximity producer. I am looking for another catalyst in the next few years as well: I would like to see the ADRs move out of the OTC market and on to a major exchange. This would provide more exposure and allow firms and funds with restrictive rules in place to purchase, increasing demand for the shares and the price, all else equal.
Here's a recent blog post in which I compared Treasury Wine Estates to some of its much larger peers:http://beta.fool.com/brewcrewfool/2012/07/24/investing-in-happy-hour/7706/
