Go Warriors!

Love the capital allocation skills of this company. Jordan Spieth and Steph Curry were steals. This is a classic Peter Lynch investment in buying what you see and know. I see more Under Armour logos in the gym and out in public. I don't see this trend reversing. Price matters but looking at valuation this early in their growth phase would be a mistake.

Excellent brand that has plenty of room to grow and take market share from Nike.

The best apparel stock by far in my opinion. I don't need to reiterate what others have posted. I am a UMD graduate and was familiar with this company before they were publicly traded. The crisis hit is 2008/2009 and crying to see this company selling for a low price, but had no capital to invest. The market rebounded, I sold some of my holdings and invested $10,000 in this company (after it had increased 3 fold). Fast forward to today, the stock has split twice and my $10K investment turned into over $90K. I am not a market timer, but sold the entire investment because I think it is a bit ahead of itself. I did this through an IRA so no Capital Gains Tax. It is a great company with a price that is a bit ahead of itself and although I don't usually time the market, this quickly became a significant holding and didn't want to sit on it at a premium. It is now selling lower than my sell price and will buy back a portion of my shares somewhere in the $60-$70 range which may still look expensive and use the rest to buy other companies. I have owned over my 20+ years of investing almost every company that were small potatoes and sold when my profit doubled and have learned my lesson. I owned Amazon.com when it was $5 a share back when it started and don't even want to know how much money I gave up by not holding. Under Armour is a disrupter. I will not make these mistakes again. I may have made a mistake in selling because of its high P/E ratio, but this is a keeper. I could buy it back today and have a few thousand dollars to invest elsewhere, but am holding out for now (which is against my investment philosophy). I have learned from past mistakes....buy disrupters and hold onto them forever. You will win some and lose some but this company wiped away every loss of another company where I took a chance which didn't work out plus some.

UA has a PE of about 80. UA's EPS growth rate 1,3,5 years is below 30%. Suppose UA grows EPS at 30%. How long would it take (with no price increase) to get UA's PE down to something sane, like 20. Earnings have to quadruple for that. With a 30% annual growth rate, earnings quadruple in five and a quarter years. So, an optimistic growth rate for this stock's price over the next five years is 0.

Sales are still increasing by ~25% every year and their global and equipment presences are going to keep that engine chugging for a long time yet.

Key investment thesis:
a. Market opportunity - This company is just getting started. While it has great penetration and recognition within continental US, there are many geographies where it should and would grow! Today it's market cap is $18B; 2014 rev is $3.1B, which makes P/S at 5.8. Let's talk of Nike (NKE)- For context, NKE has a market cap of $86B and Rev of $27.8B (P/S of 3.1 which is lower, but then Nike growth rate should be slower than UA). Also Price to FCF ratio for UA is 39.5 vs 40.9 for NKE. The hope here is UA will someday grow to a NKE. And who doesn't need shoes and apparel!

b. Leadership - Kevin Plank, need I say more? At age 42, this founder CEO still has enormous room for growth along with UA. He is truly key to my investment thesis.

c. Innovation - Well this is their punchline "EVERYTHING HERE IS BUILT TO MAKE YOU BETTER." From the foundation to today, the company has really stuck to this mission with terrific zeal. But the company is not only innovating with it's athletic wear, it's also doing so to make UA more ubiquitous by acquiring platforms like myfitnesspal. On this count they are a step ahead of their peers.

Now that this stock is pulling back, it could be a good time to buy. UA is really expanding its brand and will give Nike and other apparel companies fits in the year(s) to come.

A continuin eye on innovation and solid leadership with ambitious sites set on beating Nike. Whether they do or not doesn't even matter. They don't have to actually overtake them for that goal to pay off.
