Conservative bank took no TARP money and has extended record of consistent dividend increases. Management expanding into promising areas through acquisitions and organic growth.

A well run co.mr. Adams knows how to run a Bank Corp.

Great bank, which for the most part avoided the risky financing that many other banks got caught up in, yet saw its stock fall because of the general sector performance. Recently increased its dividend again, reflecting its good financial performance.
I like this because of its high dividend, which provides good hedging, and because of its stock capital-growth potential, as it regains the share value lost by the financial sector decline of 08/09.
This one is a long-term keeper for me

This bank is way underrated. They are conservatively managed, provide excellent customer service, sit in the affluent and largely recession-proof Washington DC suburbs, and have upped their dividend every year for the past 25 years. They have outperformed the S&P and will continue to do so. I have done my banking there for 15 yeras and owned their stock for ten years. They will survive the current greed-inspired banking fiasco and lead the financials back up. This security is being overlooked by the CAPS community.

Regional growth expected to be strong. Limited exposure to subprime loan market.

The name say it all.

The financial sector has some attractive players, but this isn't one of them. If current management were to strike out and be more aggressive with product offerings, growth would occur. For now, management is more concerned with growing its own bank accounts. So the S&P will leave this one in the dust. Too bad - UBSI has lots of growth potential.
