Commercial Market issues reflected in stock price. Preferred stocks lowered common share value. As preferrred (TARP) money is paid back, common share value will move back up. Look at insider buying.

leadership is strong, genius niche considering the future of the global economy, surviving the game in this impossible time for banks.

This Bank is going down faster than the Titanic. Large portfolio of large "off the books" bad commercial real estate loans. this stock will be trading less than $2 in sixty days. In this market only the strong will survive and it will not be an over leveraged bank.

I think UCBH is in for a drop. The primary reason is their investment in commercial loans, which are next on the block after residential mortgages and credit cards. Here is a commercial bank with a PE of 22. Compare this to other "solid" banks. In addition, the price to free cash flow seems very large for a security in this sector at this time.

Non-performing loans may increase above the current level, and place downward pressure on the stock price in the near term; particularly given the recent run-up.
However, It is well capitalized and has very low PB and PE. The construction segment is a concern, however the other segments are holding up. It seems to be very under-priced. Furthermore, many peers with worse business operational performance have risen much higher from their lows.
More pain is likely to come, but long term it will likely outperform. It is a deep value play, and now is a reasonable time to enter (although $3/shr would have been ideal...too bad I didn't come across it until now).
In the near term it will likely only gain 30%. However long term, it could double again.

The Texas ratio is a measure of a bank's credit troubles, developed by Gerard Cassidy and others at RBC Capital Markets. It is calculated by dividing the value of the lender's non-performing loans by the sum of its tangible equity capital and loan loss reserves. In analyzing Texas banks during the early 1980s recession, Cassidy noted that banks tended to fail when this ratio reached 1:1, or 100%. He noted a similar pattern among New England banks during the recession of the early 1990s. Texas ratio is greater than 24%.

Using the Texas Ratio (see blog) I see here a dim star on the verge of burning out.
I don't see the worse being over for the banks. Instead, I see two hugh bricks yet to fall.

Average EPS for the sector. Decent dividend, I think this stock has bottomed out and am buying at this point. Bounce back for financials.

A bank with a wider market range than most people realize- including China. Excellent loan reserves will help them offset any potential losses from domestic portfolio. Under the radar bank.
