Uranium Energy Corp. (UEC)

This is one of the few energy picks that I feel would under perform the market primarily because I don't see a lot of political will to expand nuclear energy production. Natural gas is still relatively inexpensive and solar/wind are more politically correct. So I suspect that Uranium Energy won't do as well as the S&P 500 over the next two to four years.

It also appears to be near its recent highs, so I'm guessing that the down side risk is bigger than the up side potential.

This met a high level screen to indicate a sell and strong underperform against its peers (other tickers in its industry). My 1st version of this spreadsheet devles deep into the company's balance sheet and recent income statements, combined with other relevant price data for the company including insider/institutional holdings, short interest, debt levels, etc.
I'm testing capabilities of this 1st version of my automated, valuation spreadsheet matched with my personal criteria and see how it holds up.

No debt and 25 million in cash. 1.3 million pounds uranium at its nichols project in south Texas. That is in addition to 6.9 million pounds at Goliad. Production permit for area 1 at Goliad granted by the Texas comission on environmental quality. Joint ventures with Uran Limited, and Australian uranium explorer.

One of my two (2) top picks for 2009 the other being PLM. Both should receive approval to start mining their property this year. Have been following both for years. (UEC - in Texas) (PLM - in Minnesota)

Uranium is the future. Heating cost are scheduled to sky rocket, nuclear is cleaner and cheaper.

The understanding that I have is that they have Uranium on their properties, and are getting thier final permits. So, they'll either mine and sell the Uranium or sell the properties to someone else. EIther way, it looks good for them.

Espeically if the country increases the amount of Nuclear power plants. Then everyone will profit.

Uranium production by second half of 2010. Solid technicals.

Final operating permit should be issued shortly, revenue to flow in mid-2010. They are on their way.

Dunno, I've just watched this thing go from around 0.20 to what it is today 2.95..... Jumped on this pick awalla go and still building..

Goliad (Texas) is finally becoming reality and Uranium is rebounding. Although it would surprise me little if this takes a breather, it would be healthy and provide a platform to ride much higher. Full Disclosure: I have a 4-digit position long on these guys.

With the energy needs of the country and the cost of most raw materials. UEC could be ready to make a large move to the up side.

Only because it's at the top of its bollinger bands.

I'm riding the coat tails of John Burbank at Passport Capital on this one. His hedge fund had a 200% return last year and he owns this stock. I'm assuming the guy has done his homework here.
