This is an experimental portfolio consisting of small-cap or larger picks that have recently entered the $1.50-3.00 range (favoring the low end), with the theory being that most stocks entering this range are not going to stay there unless they've been there for a while already.

Not often you see a $5B company knocked down this far... It should go in this experimental portfolio on principle alone. :) Next to no debt, better margins than the industry as a whole, decent ratios otherwise, and improved relations with China (at present) can't hurt the cause any.

I am not so much as rating this stock I am going to ask a question in hope thats another rater with more knowledge than I can help me. What is the easiest way to tell if a stock pays dividends? Is there a place you can look because I am always curious if a stock I am interested in buying pays dividends. Thanks for the help.

More and more chipmakers are turning to foundries for their chip manufacturing due to the high investment and the technical challenges. While TSMC is my favorite foundry a lot of chipmakers will likely want to avoid having all their chips manufactured by one partner, so UMC should see a nice boost.
