on My Watchlist
I've stated how I've felt about Uni-pixel in the past. I know there are a lot of fans out there, because "new technology" is Cool, and if embraced by one of the "big boys" the tiny market cap can soar. So very speculative, but I'd rather buy a scratch ticket or play the slots at a casino. Scratch tickets return about 50% on your investment, but reupping will eventually wipe you out. Slots typically pay out about 35% depending on how much the casino needs to compete, so again, eventually, you'll lose all your money if you keep putting it in.Uni-Pixel, however, will bleed you dry, without any of the thrill. Slots and lottery scratch tickets might pay off big. Uni-Pixel, not so much. With Slots and Lottery tickets, there is the 'thrill' or expectation. I think some speculators feel that will Uni-pixel, but you have to go at it pretty much in the dark.Yes, I know that the $12,000 in sales shouldn't be used as a metric, it's all about the future.Yes, I know they are tweaking the MFG process, and will soon, possibly, maybe roll that die right through with a good yield...maybe.But what's the buy-in. Whose waiting for the die to be cast? You can really hope for a lot of fish when you cast the net out, but unless you know there are fish in the lake, you can't be sure you'll catch anything.Speculator toy, not a good bet for so many reasons. Looking for moderate retrace, not as big a drop as it will some day get, when dilution exceeds speculation and shorts can get shares easier to cover.
Going... going.... gone
I bought Uni-pixel in real life and was lucky to escape around 10 with a minor gain. This is a tough market to complete in because Samsung, Apple, Dell and other OEMs are entrenched with more-established suppliers.Uni-pixel has a product, but do large OEM's have any interest? And is it worth it to them to take the risk on product launch delays on a relatively unknown smaller company? Maybe this will bounce at 4-5 bucks, but I'm not betting on it.
Buy when everyone hates it , monthly IHS
I think that they have developed a product that can change touch screen Teck. with a copper based flim that reduces cost considerably over ITO flims. They have a production contract with Dell and if this reduces cost as much as reported it could really go.
touch screens are ecoming much more important. Lower cost, better perfomance will drive exceptional growth.
Smells like a pump and dump, but I need to do more research to be sure.
