Labor is gonna cause another strike eventually and FEDEX is prepared to take on the extra packages UPS will not be able to deliver.

UPS is an efficient and well run global delivery company. It is fairly valued. It should grow due to continued globalization, ecommerce and logistics outsourcing trends. It has a limited set of competitors (FedEx, DHL, USPS) and the cost of entry in this business is high.

I worked at UPS for four years in the 1980's while in college and I know first hand how efficent and ballbusting it comes to getting work out of their people. They never let you have "down time" if it is more than 5 minutes slow. They make you pick up a broom or something, even to look busy. With all of the internet shopping on and people moving away from the big cities their service will be even more in demand. I will follow this for awhile.

My original pitch ran, "on the stock, betting a soft landing hurts transit more than expected." The economy continues to slow, so I'll keep on it.

This is yet another reload, of course. Viz my canned rant on "accuracy" at http://caps.fool.com/Blogs/ViewPost.aspx?bpid=4381&t=01001607032191429882

UPS like LUV is a company built on superior efficiency in its industry. Its system is exportable all over the world. As internet purchasing continues to grow so will the package business.

1) The US economy is becoming more and more integrated with the world economy and UPS is working effectively to become a leader in multinational airfreight delivery and 2) it is becoming a local delivery leader globally at the same time to enhance its multinational airfreight delivery. Both parts work together. UPS has the management and the workforce skills to bring it off.

Internet shopping keeps growing and growing and growing and growing... will drag UPS along for the ride, if they can stay the preferred provider (which is somewhat doubtful as USPS priority mail is SOOOO much cheaper and includes shipping materials)

UPs is down from all time highs reached a few months ago and will recover to those levels by the end of the year as long as the stock market continues to grow. As such expectation is to beat the S&P since it has been trailing for a while

Stock has been held down since it went public in 1999. Historical PE shows it is a great value at this price. Pays a nice dividend as well. Growing well internationally. Supply chain should be profitable this year. Started early contract negotiations. Has better service than other competitors, it's a one stop shop.

With UPS involved worldwide demand will be there for their services which will cause the company to grow stronger but also beat the forecasts.

This stock has a lot of competition from fedex. But we will see who wins in the end Union or anti union.

This stock is under valued and will soon be discovered as one of the most valued stocks based on its bisiness profile. None of the competition has the holdings or credtit ratings to even compare . This is a very divers company with a diverse game plan far into the future!
