What will drive oil prices down? A strong dollar? US leverage? Less demand?

This country (world) is addicted to oil. Demand will not lessen without major technological breakthroughs. The one's the Oil companies have been holding back for years. Even then, it will take years (and $$$) to transition....More

I really should have rated this months ago. But I stand by my statement for OIL that crude will hit at least $150 this year. More like $200. If we attack Iran, it will only spike higher. Look up the Strait of Hormuz. If we attack Iran, they can easily knock off tankers heading though it, and most do.

The price of oil is not a speculative bubble. Oil price will be volatile but with an overall upward trend. The huge drop in price the past two days makes this a good time to add USO as an outperform.

Though influenced by many factors, I see falling export quantities as the primary driver for the cost of a barrel of oil. It's not speculation. Drilling alone won't lower prices, due to a lack of significant discoveries for the past 40 years. Saudi Arabia won't back up their talk with a reliable, significant and long term increase in their production. The decline in consumption in the US and EU won't offset the demand increase from the rest of the world. This will become evident over the next couple months.

On top of all that, factor in: hurricane season, Americans delaying the purchase of heating oil until this fall, Iran, the falling dollar, increasing car sales in China and India, and it's likely we will still see $150 oil before the end of 2008.

I'm taking this "personal" sacrifice of picking some oil stocks at their highs in hopes that it follows all my other "oh so wrong" picks, goes down and in turn oil goes down and saves the economy! ;-) This is a tongue in cheek post, so no serious reply's necessary !
