Varian is sporting high returns on capital, and its earnings appear to be quality in nature (operating cash flow is keeping pace with net income). I like how sales, earnings, and book value are growing, and I think I'm getting this for a fair price at $71.

I think the recent pull-back provides a good entry-point for VAR. Their revenue and EPS are as solid as ever and rumor is that their managment may be expecting increased demand. Varian has been an outperformer for years and I see no reason this trend will stop anytime soon.
