Unrest in the middle east is driving up oil prices. Regardless, oil prices will go up, we can expect $4 gas very soon. Commodities will also keep going up. The consumer will be squeezed come this summer. Good time to invest in the staples.

My thought on sector selection is to simply invest in where you pay your bills: utilities, consumer staples, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and defense (you pay taxes, don't you?).

Love ETF's! This one gets you in on the action with PG, Wal-Mart etc. at a cheaper price than what it would cost to buy the actual stock. Can't go wrong there.

I am a ETF fan bar none. Cost effective and instant diversification.

Easy and perfect for a lazy man like me.

Want to own Wal Mart P+G Colgate and others but dont have 50 grand to do it right? This is how small fish can swim in the pond with the sharks. And unless the world ends in a nuclear holocaust these companys will be producing profits and rewarding stock holders forever. This ETF is part of my core portfolio for buy and hold until I die or the universe implodes.

Look at it's holdings. This ETF will always outperform the S&P 500.

People can only cut back so much on staple products....Im betting a whole lot of the comming "Tax Stimulus Refund" money gets spent at Wal Mart and the like, catching up on needed consumer staples.

Recession is coming, consumers have already started cutting back on spending (ie. Starbucks traffic is down)
