the positive Markman decision in August was a major victory. MSFT's decision to go to trial was no surprise, but after MSFT's loss to i4i against the same attorneys (McKool Smith) that have taken VHC's suit on an 8% contingency, MSFT might be re-evaluating that decision. I have not heard any questions of VHC's patent validity from any source, if the patents are valid MSFT will lose, multiple licenses will follow.

By the time Qualcomm and the cellphone industry realize the extent of the patent portfolio of this company, started as an offshoot of SAIC, Microsoft will have paid handsomely for their patent infringement lawsuit (Microsoft already lost its Markman hearing) and everyone else will be quickly calling VHC to initiate payment to them instead of paying substantially past due (since 1998) patent infringement funds. And that's only the tip of the iceberg!
And then, the substantial 4G cellphone patents that VHC owns (that everyone will have to use in order to go forward in the 4G world) will begin to reap substantial profits for this fantastically well-positioned company. VHC will be the one that everyone will want to own, but few will be in early enough to reap their once in a lifetime benefits.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and that you get in this early enough!
