A small but very well run chip mfg., located where long-term demographic consumer trends are evergrowing.

Buying this on a rec and significant cash holdings. Could see it just as easily fail as succeed. I'm betting on success with their cash holding.

bought this one at about $7. Morningstar analyst's have reduced fair value for Vimicro given the sustained competitive environment which Vimicro is no longer able to dominate, despite its leading technological advantage.
The Gardner's call for a buy under $11 is no longer valid but the rollout of China's domestic G3 network in 2008 should provide further avenues for growth.
I've followed the stock down to $4.91 and am holding there. Anyone contemplating buying now should be rewarded with a bounce in a year or so.

As of close of business on 12/31/07, this was a 5-star Morningstar stock that was trading at less than half it's Morningstar fair value.
Recs
Currently priced near its book value. Someone will buy or the analysts will take notice (like they did with CMGI).

This stock was just cut by Morgan Stanley... I don't understand. They have no debt, and a rising webcam market. They beat the street in August, and outlooks are positive for a great Q3 earnings report. Buy now, and hold on tight...

Good cash position, has been beat to hell unfairly.

Recs
Earnings due out August 9. If they beat estimates it flies. If they miss it goes down a tad more. The market once again overpunished a good company with good growth prospects in a context of getting nervous about China.
Recs
Profitable company with good margins and high insider ownership
