chinese company, so politically risky - think it will test the high of april before investors figure out what they feel this company is worth fundamentally - bought it for myself around 10.50 last month and think it will double if the market cooperates for another couple of months, then I'm selling - would rather invest in companies that supply china rather than reside there - too much interference with the earnings from the chinese government - I like the company CHDX because it is an american company servicing china

I am still learning about Vimicro, which is one of the reasons that I love CAPS. It's the perfect place to try out a few ideas. This Beijing-based semiconductor design company (fabless) has an excellent balance sheet, has been cut in half on earnings shortfalls, and is heavily owned by HSBC (a very solid investor/financier). This has the markings of a promising investment down below $11, back at the price it came public at around a year ago. I have this down as a long-term winner in CAPS. It's not the sort of situation I'd expect quick rewards from. But let's check back in three years, Fools.
