Solid brand appeal with a growing base. I remember when skaters were just anglo thug boys...now the skater population crosses all ethnicities and encompasses both genders. Retail is down, which is why it's a good time to get in, and when retail comes back this is a solid pick. Also, disposable income is still with the youth in this country...layoffs are all coming from professional and career levels.

I believe it will outperform in the long run becuase it is a growing clothing and extreme sports company that supplies a huge industry that is new and will continue to grow. It is on the low end of the 52 week high and I feel that as the economy begins to dig itself out of this rut this company will be back to where it has been in the past. How long are you willing to wait for this compnay to turnaround is the question.

Volcom is a designer and marketer of action sports apparel for snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing. The company is smartly run, financially sound, and has plenty of growth opportunities overseas. It's also extraordinarily cheap!
