Time for utilities to cycle back into favor for a few years. And it adds some diversification to my Caps portfolio.

My thought on sector selection is to simply invest in where you pay your bills: utilities, consumer staples, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and defense (you pay taxes, don't you?).

utilities are going to stay strong through the current market, but there may be problems in a few years depending on what the new administration decides to do with coal/nuclear/renewable energy.

New tactic for this market - index sector over individual stock - in bad times folks still need heat/light etc. so simple utilities play.

A very attractive addition to a portfolio to grant exposure to the utility sector or a core holding for a buy and hold ETF portfolio.
This ETF slides nicley into the income allocation section and gives instant diversifacation among the top utilty companys.
Mild growth potential is icing on a very tasty cake for those with a time horizon of five or more years.

A low cost ETF of World utilities ; good in case of a downturn - people still need to pay the bills.

steady performer

Too many good things to say about this ETF. Safe sector for a currently volatile market, great average returns, highest sharpe ratio of any similar ETFs (one of my favorite ways to compare ETFs), and it's Vanguard! Gotta love Vanguard, they never let me down.
