Player in cellulosic ethanol, better as it allows use of most if not all parts of corn. Will gain traction over the next few years, or be buyout target for larger oil company.

enzymes are in the forefront of research into alternative fuels. This company is ahead of the game. The market is poised to take off. i dont see it happening in '08 but it will happen.

Termite enzymes is the way to go for ethanol. However, it will take a while before this proves to be economically viable, but could be huge in the loong-term. Nibble now.

The problem is that this technology isn't quite ready for prime time. Range Fuels, with funding from venture capitalists and $76 million from the Department of Energy, has begun work in Georgia on what it calls the country's first commercial-scale cellulose-to-ethanol plant, using wood chips and forest residue to produce ethanol. Other government grants awarded Jan. 3 -- a total of $385 million -- went to Iogen Biorefinery Partners, Abengoa Bioenergy Biomass of Kansas, Alico, BlueFire Ethanol and Poet (formerly Broin). It's hard to find a public company on the cutting edge of the future of biofuels to invest in. There are a few small publicly traded companies working on developing better enzymes for turning cellulose into fuel. They're small and volatile, so check them out carefully. One you might consider if you're hankering after an investment in this sector is Verenium

Biofuels growth should play out in 2008 with Verenium as a key player. With their demonstration plant to come online at the end of Q1 or in Q2 of '08, they should be well positioned to complete proof-of-concept and continue more in-depth R&D in making cellulosic ethanol a commercial reality which is the long-term future of bioethanol beyond the temporary bridge which corn provides.

I find this company very valuable and a long term source over ethanol because it's a faster process in the development of enzymes as fuel.

In the research and development field, it seems to me that this would have a faster pace market than ethanol. Not only in every day fuel economy for cars, they are also bending into industries such as aviation, heavy duty machinery, and development into fuel cell research with enzymes.

Seems a lot more viable than ethanol from corn. Cuts out a lot of problems in the process too.

The new energy bill is highly favorable to all ethanol stocks over the next 6-12 months.

This company is comparable to an early stage biotech company, only in the alt-energy field. They are focused on cellulosic ethanol development. If they are successful (big if), the stock may join the ranks of Hansen Naturals or Chico's as one of those stocks that you look back on in ten years and say "If I had bought back then--Wow!" Unfortunately, the chances of success are slim, but the potential rewards are so great that, at the current price, I think the gamble is worthwhile. I bought a couple hundred shares--If the stock goes to zero, I'm out less than $800. If they are successful, I could see this one rising more than a hundred-fold over the next five years.

These folks seem well positioned to ride the green wave a long way...and then they'll paddle out and ride it again and again.

Cellulose ethanol is the future in my opinion and few companise have their hands in it more than this one. Only completely vertically integrated company of cellulose ethanol several pilot plants operating. I look forward to them making a killing off enzyme production or being bought out by a big energy company.

for a sustainable future (the inevitable one) biodiesel and ethanol will use cellulosic source material, this company is developing the technology.

Pure speculation.
Small Company in area that right now appears to be poised for dramatic growth.
Lots of competition.
