A springtime mystery of the low valuation of Pharmasset stock has given way to an autumn enigma of the near triple in share price since May. No one seems to be able to make up their minds about this company. I've tracked them up and down on CAPS but I always seem to bail out of my picks leaving 50% of potential points on the table. The true valuation of Pharmasset stock remains the Schrodinger's cat of baby biotech. While the current share price is still far below the all-time high of 35 seen after the initial encouraging phase I data for R7128, the market cap of 630M isn't way below the high of 740M due to multiple dilutive financings. Strong results for INFORM-1 came after the share price had already tripled and have only served, in my opinion, to delay an inevitable return of the share price to the low teens during the long wait for phase II data for R7128.

I simply used the screener to identify 1-star companies with the highest 52-week gain. The 1-star rating should mean they are bad companies and the 52-week gain should mean they are overpriced. We’ll see how it works!

Top HCV polymerase inhibitor on the block right now. Look for combo treatments with the protease inhibitors. Roche is the ideal partner for any anti-HCV drugmaker... Plus a little bit of extra pipeline to boot although not as exciting as its anti-HCV drug.

Ridiculous run-up. Typical pharma wannabe IPO. It probably will outperform initially as investors raise the price artificially high, and then tank as it becomes clear that the company will not be profitable for years to come if ever. It would be a good investment if you want to time the market. Get out now! Before it goes plop plop fizz fizz. Whoops, thats another drug company. As for me, I am a geneticist -biochemist who has worked for pharma start-ups, and I think it is safer to invest in the lottery.

I'm one who is in the group that still has a viral load. The study results are what I am seeking though the thought of what comes with taking the shot and pill again is enough to make a man cry. Maybe making a gain off the pain is enough.

I'm not usually a fan of these smaller drug companies, but their hepatitis drugs look to be quite promising.
