VVUS seems to be a leader in three-way race for a obesity drug after OREX released mixed data before JP Morgan confab in Jan, 09. ARNA is far behind.

Data in Dec. for first of 3 phase 3 trials for obesity/diabetes drug Qnexa.

There is no rationale for the high on this stock wright now.Price will go to the 4-5 range in a matter of weeks.

Long-term hold, obesity drug looks very promising.

I love this stock.

KV Pharma deal for EvaMist provides plenty of cash for VVUS to develop mid-stage obesity & diabetes drug candidate Qnexa, which has demonstrated promising results for both conditions thus far in clinical trials.

Biotech investors know what they’re getting into when they dabble in the single-digit waters: losses and long approval processes for promising drugs. VIVUS fits the bill. You have to go all the way back to 2002 to find the last time that VIVUS traded in the double digits, and it didn't stay there long.
However, VIVUS had encouraging news last week on its Qnexa diabetes drug. During a mid-stage trial, a study had it both reducing blood sugar and inspiring weight loss in patients with type 2 diabetes. It's still a long way to the end of the approval tunnel, but it's good news for patient biotech investors.

Today April 08, 2008... VVUS fell to $5.95 a share... Nothing bad or to worry about... They have been averaging $6.20 a share... Simply, they are going to rise back up to $6.20 a share...
So for heavy investors with alot of money... take a risk?

My heart be still, im recommending a biotech company! Vivus has been on my list for a while and it looks like their revenue and profits are finally going to skyrocket. Qnexa, their obesity drug looks like a sure thing for approval (of course there's never a sure thing in the biotech field) but it will have plenty of competition shortly after it makes it to market. That aside, Vivus should see revenues jump nearly 200% this year and almost 65% in 2008. EPS should jump dramatically as R&D costs give way to those increased revenue. I could see Vivus trading at just 5-6 times future earnings if it stays at this price point. Tons of cash per share, around $2.80 and a rounding technical pattern on the long-term chart. Not much to be negative about here. 12-24 month double I figure.

This quarter will be huge with the sale of EvaMist ($150M + $30M more in earn-outs). That said, the more critical milestone will be the start of Qnexa Phase III trials this quarter. That will start the one-year (give or take) countdown to the completion of what has every sign of a confirmation this is going to be a blockbuster. Qnexa has already been prescribed off-label by the inventor (rights bought by Vivus) for 7 years with no major side effects and with efficacy far beyond anything on the market or in known development elsewhere. In the latest CC, CEO mentioned that they were going to add Type 2 Diabetes to the indication for which they will try to get during Phase III trials. This adds another big market segment to the Qnexa story. MDTS-T has strong potential and I'm looking for more info on the next CC along with an update on Avanafil and the FDA's approval of their SPA for Phase III testing this drug.

too much in the pipeline and its being ignored.

Don't bet the farm on this one but I like any company that is working on drugs to help humans recover their drive for quality sex. Sexy company with lots of upside potential.

New drugs in pipeline, innovative direction for sexual arrousual drugs. One drug under FDA approval, if drug becomes approved, big run in price, or possible takeover target for major drug co.

Vvus cycles; I think it is manipulated. Current high will end and will sink back to $2.50 range.

If they get approval on current test of female drug,"hold the horses katie". A long shot.

This stock has two legitimate drugs in the pipeline, one targeting female sexual dysfunction, the other obesity. They are both moving through clinical trials as expected and are due to be entering the market next year. Women won't be able to resist.
